From Tip Top to Wellington Chocolate Factory, meet Maddi, WCF’s new Head Production and Innovation.
A born and bred Wellingtonian, Maddi studied Food Technology at Massey University, eventually gaining her Master’s Degree.
“Food Technology Combined All The Subject’s I Liked; Maths, Science And Art – And From There I Went On To Work At Tip Top,” Says Maddi.
Working in R&D and then in production, Maddi helped introduce new flavours Kiwifruit Pavlova, Cola Spider, and Goody Goody Gum Drops on a stick.
“It could take over a year for a product to go from idea to being on the shelf, so it was super rewarding to see a product hit the shelf. What I loved was being involved in the production process.
“Now, I’m In A Small Team, And Learning About The Other Aspects Of A Business. But I Still Enjoy Being In The Factory With My Team And Being Hands-On”.
As for Maddi’s favourite WCF flavour?
“It has to be the Peru bar. I love dark chocolate, and the taste of the bean comes through so clearly – plus dark chocolate has health benefits!”
